Itisamatter ofjoy for allYogaEnthusiasts as the "International Yoga Day" is celebrated in our university. On this occasion, NSS unit in association with Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized Yoga Day Program for all the staff of the UTU on 21stJune 2018 on Thursday. The motive of this activity is to offer immense opportunity to become fit and healthy. This program included introductory speech, Yoga asana, Pranayama, Meditation that was led by Yoga teacher Trushar Patel. 50 students of SRCP and about 60 staff of UTU enthusiastically participated in this program. Dr. N. C. Shah, who is the Advisor of UTU, ended the event with vote of thanks. The program had gained great success and appreciation for the concerned effort made by faculties of NSS unit Dr. GajananKalyankar, Dr. SandeshLodha, Mr. HardikVyas, Mr.Jay Patel, Ms. DivyaGadaria and faculties of SRCP Dr. HeenaRathod and Dr. Rajal Sukhiyaji.

Lecture was delivered by Dr. Ritesh Shah (Pediatric Neurologist). In this seminar 83 students and faculties of SRCP had enthusiastically participated to make this seminar successful. Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy, a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University gave voluntary physiotherapy service in "Surat Night Marathon on 24th March-2018". International level marathon runners from various countries participated with great enthusiasm.11students from SRCP participated as volunteer physiotherapists where they treated more than 200 marathon runners who suffered from different musculoskeletal condition during marathon. Our service was highly appreciated by the runners as well as by the management. Students had really nice on-field exposure.

Dr. Manu Shankar Sharma, Joint replacement surgeon from Shelby hospital delivered a lecture on 'Myths about Knee Replacement Surgery' on 16th March 2018 at ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy. A session was converging on knee replacement surgery: Indication, surgical procedure, recent advances and its rehabilitation. Dr. Manu Shankar Sharma also gave enough emphasis on myths related to knee replacement surgery. Students of 4th, 6th and 8th semester had attended the lecture and all the questions were cleared at the end of the session by Dr. Sharma.

Dr. Gaurav Khandelwal, senior consultant spine surgeon carrying extensive experience of over 4000 spine surgeries. Dr. Khandelwal delivered a lecture on 'Recent Advances in Spinal Surgeries' on 16th March 2018 at Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy. This lecture emphasized enough on assessment, medical and surgical management of spinal disorders. Recent advances in spinal surgeries have been covered and the session was ended with a panel discussion comprising of Dr. Khandelwal, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Shukla. Students of 4th, 6th and 8th semester had attended the lecture.
One Day National level conference on "Multidisciplinary Approach in ACL Rehabilitation" was organized by Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy on 10th March, 2018 at Uka Tarsadia University-Bardoli.The Inaugural function started with UTU Anthem, Lightening Lamp and Prayer. Dr.HariMenon (HOD-Dept.of Orthopedics) was invited as a chief guest in the conference. Dr.MitulkumarDarji (Senior Physiotherapist, Gujarat Ranji Team), Dr.Krunal Shah (Director, Aastha Clinic),Dr.Karanbir Singh (Sports Psychologist, ASI-Pune), Mrs.Priya Kulkarni (Sports Nutritionist-Pune) were chief speakers who shared their valuable knowledge about ACL injury & it's management in sedentary and physically active individuals. There were 200 Delegates who participated in the conference. All the sessions were informative and enlighten the knowledge and skills of delegates. Conference was ended with vote of thanks by Dr.BhavikJhaveri.
Students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy participated in Inter College Tournament held in March, 2018. This tournament included 3 games - Kabaddi, Kho-kho and Volleyball in boys and girls category. 36 Students including both men & women participants of SRCP enthusiastically & energetically participated in this tournament. In this tournament, the girl's team of the Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy became champion in Kho-kho.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized & celebrated International Women's Day with 'PINK RUN' on 8 th March 2018 in UTU Campus. The run was from UTU main gate to the sports ground. The flag off was done by our honorable provost Dr.D.R.Shah, Assistant Registrar and all the directors of various institutes of UTU. All the staff including the students of different departments joined for the run. Dr. Snehal Patel took the initiative to organize this event for all the faculties and students of Uka Tarsadia University.

About 27 students attended this conference under the guidance of Dr. Rajal B. Sukhiyaji. This conference had different sports, cultural and scientific events with post workshop too. Students of SRCP put their best efforts in various sports and cultural events. ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy bagged in 12 different titles in different events. They stood on 1st place in this grand conference.It's really a very big achievement for SRCP. They also met MahipalNarwal, (Player of Gujarat Fortune Giants, Pro Kabbadi League). Students attended post workshop and learned different technique in Physiotherapy field.
7 students and 3 faculties of ShrimadRajchandra College of physiotherapy, a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University, had participated as volunteer physiotherapists in this marathon, where they had treated many marathon runners who had problems during and after running. Our Prime Minister Mr. NarendraModi flagged off the 'Run for New India' marathon from the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium of the city. The Marathon is aimed at creating awareness about social causes and call upon all to resolve to build a New India. Around 1.50 lakh runners participated in the 'Run for New India' marathon that was organized by the SuratNagrikSamiti. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, Member of Parliament C.R Patil and many other dignitaries were present on the occasion. It's really a very proud moment for the SRCP students and faculties to treat runners and do social work.
ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy has organized a guest lecture on "A magic is in your hand: Craniosacral Therapy" on 24th February 2018. A certified craniosacral therapist, Dr. Swati Puniani Patel delivered a lecture with emphasis on introduction and fundamentals of Craniosacral Therapy. A session was ended with some practical demonstrations and question-answer round. A total of 61 students from SRCP had enthusiastically participated to make this session successful.Guest lecture was organized by Dr. Niyati Desai and Dr. Mansi Bidja during the Industry Academia Meet 2018.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized Annual sports days "Aashayein-2018" on 19th& 20th February-2018 that comprised of total 26 events in boys & girls categories. All the major Indoor & Outdoor games were included like Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball,Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table tennis, 4*100m relay, 100m run, 200m run, 400m run, Shot put, Discus throw,Carom, Chess. All students & faculties of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy enthusiastically & energetically participated in various individual& team games. At the end of the competition 110 gold medals and 110 silver medals were awarded to Winners and runners up respectively. Champion trophy was given to Team A and runner up trophy was given to Team B among four teams.

For the faculties of UkaTarsadia University "Winter Special Fitness Fusion Program" was conducted by Dr. Rajal B. Sukhiyaji, Lecturer,Certified Aerobics, Pilates and Power Yoga trainer, SRCP. This 5 days program started from 28th November, 2017 to 2nd December, 2017 which included Aerobics dance, Pilates, Kick-boxing, Power Yoga and many more. Each session included brief introduction about aerobics exercise, guidelines which have to be remembered throughout the session, warm up and cool down period. Faculties of different department enthusiastically participated in program and enjoyed a lot. The motive of this activity is to offer opportunity to become fit and healthy.
Every year 3rd December is celebrated as "World Disability Day". To support this motive Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy celebrated this day by organizing painting competition. The competition organized on this day was different then other usual painting competition as participants were made blind folded and their partners guided them to compelete the painting. Total 25 pair of student participated from 4th, 6th, 8th semester and demonstrated their wonderful creativity of doing painting with blindfold as it's not easy to do any task without eyevision. Dr. Rajal Sukhiyaji and Dr. Sneha Sailor judged competition as they belongs from that zoner and awarded three pair as winner,1st runner up and 2nd runner up. This event was organized and coordinated by Dr. Bhavik Jhaveri, Dr. Kinjal Patel and Dr. Pooja Patel.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized fresher's party on 16th December 2017 in Manjula hall. Party was based on "sparkle and glitters" theme. The inaugural function of fresher's party began with lamp lighting and a welcome dance to make the occasion auspicious. Dr.Ruchi Gupta welcomed the guests Shri Bhagubhai Patel (President, BPKM) and Dr. Dinesh Shah (Provost, UTU). Our honorable provost Dr. Dinesh Shah gave an inspirational speech. Various senior and junior students performed group dance and singing. In between some entertaining tasks and activity were arranged by students of 4th semester for the fresher's. Mr. and Miss Fresher's of 2017 were awarded on the basis of few questions & their performances. ChaudhariVisheshand Shah Dipsa Won the tag of Mr. and Miss Fresher's respectively. The Program concluded with vote of thanks by Dr.Heena Rathod followed by ice cream for all.A very good D. J. Dance ended the party. All student and Faculty members enjoyed a lot.
SRCP celebrated World AIDS Day on 1st December, 2017 by organizing a poster making competition based on the theme of AIDS. 11 students from 1st, 4th, 6th and 8th semester participated and demonstrated wonderful balance of creativity, objectivity and presentation. Ms. RutviVaidya judged the competition and awarded Bhavik Shah (6th semester) and Hani Pavasiya (4th semester) the 1st and 2nd position, respectively, in the competition. All staff, teaching and non-teaching and all the students wore the red ribbon which stands as a symbol of awareness and HIV support. This event was organized and co-ordinated by Dr. Alisha Memon and Dr. Ruchi Gupta
The students of ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy attended Physio Summit, 2017,organized by faculty of Physiotherapy at Parul campus, waghodia on 17th and 18thNovember,2017 along with faculty members named Dr. Rajal B. ShrimadRajchandra College Physiotherapy,a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University had organized a free Diabetes Screening camp at Yoga Meditation hall on 15th November 2017.In this camp 111 patients and faculty of UTU were evaluated and guided for treatment by Dr. Marmik Patel and his team. Event was organized by Dr. Pooja Patel and Dr. Niyati Desai along with other staff members. All the students of SRCP had enthusiastically participated to make this camp successful.
For the implementation of " Digital Gujarat " , a seminar for scholarship was organized by Government of Gujarat, at UTU, in which students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy hadattended 2 hours of seminar.This actitvity was carried out at Manjula hall of CGPIT on 10/11/2017 at 11:30 am . Students as well as the committee members had attended this seminar whichhad all the detailed guidelinesfor online scholarship for all students .Adding up, they also explained in detail about the procedure of filling online scholarship form as well as rules of editing it.All the students cleared their queries related to online registration for scholarships. Overall it was an fruitful informative session.

As we are on land of Sardar which is Bardoli that's the reasonShrimadRajchandraCollege of physiotherapy celebrated his birth anniversary on 31st of October as a National Unity Day,As Guideline given by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The energetic students were involved in several activities like Elocution on the topic of "Relevance & Importance of Sardar Patel in Today's India", Historical Essay on Character and contribution of Sardar Patel, and Singing Competition on the theme of Unity.
It was a collaborative effort to bring students together on the same platform and create the feeling of oneness among them through activities. The event had made a imparted knowledge on the works of the Legend SardarVallabhbhai Patel. It has made a great impact on students and also allowed them to think critically and point out the issues regarding 'Safety, Security & Unity'.

Stroke rehabilitation and recovery is the major concern for the physical therapist and patient. To know the best evidences about stroke rehabilitation and it's prognosis ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy arranged an international conference on "Introduction to Evidence Based Stroke Rehab" for students of 5th, 7th semester and interns. The key note speaker Mona Kalra who has been working in the field of Neuro-Physical Therapy in Canadashared her knowledge and personal clinical experience about best evidences to decide the rehabilitation protocol and the prognosis in the patients of stroke. Dr.HeenaRathod delivered a lecture on Mirror therapy which can be beneficial as a treatment in stroke patients. At the end of seminar students came to know about best rehabilitation protocol and recovery in the patients with stroke.
The students of Shrimad Rajchandra Physiotherapy College attended 11th GUJSTATE CONPHYCS, 2017 at JG college of Physiotherapy on 13th and 14th Oct, 2017 along with faculty members named Dr. Bhavik Jhaveri and Dr. Heena Rathod. The conference was having combination of learning and entertainment program, as morning session was of seminar and evening was filled with cultural program. Our students have taken part in various events like sports, poster presentation and cultural activities. The proud moments were our badminton and table tennis team of boys secured first place for both sports. Students had a good platform of learning and exchanging the thoughts with the other college students in conference.

ShrimadRajchandra College of physiotherapy organized Garba competition on 28th September 2017 to celebrate Navratri. Students as well as faculties participated in this event.All students of Garba competition created mesmerizing atmosphere on that day. Winners were awarded with certificate for the same.
State level conference on "Multidisciplinary Approach in Cerebral Palsy" was organized by ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy on 16thSeptember, 2017 at UkaTarsadia University-Bardoli.The Inaugural function started with UTU Anthem, Lightening Lamp and Prayer. Dr.Ketan Shah (M.D.-Pediatrics),Dr.ChiragBhalvani (M.S.-Orthopedics), Dr. ShraddhaDiwan (Lecturer, SBB Physiotherapy College- Ahmedabad), Dr. SadafSaiyed (Certified NDT practitioner)were chief speakers who shared their valuable knowledge about various aspects of cerebral palsy. There were 200 Delegates who participated in the conference. All the sessions were informative which enlightened the knowledge and skills of delegates. Conference was ended with vote of thanks from Dr.BhavikJhaveri (Organizing Secretory).
A quiz competition was organized for students in the afternoon. Dr. Snehal Patel who welcomed all the participants and spoke about the theme for this year 'Adding life to years' as per World Confederation for Physical Therapy. Further, Dr.HeenaRathod conducted the quiz competition in which 5 teams participated. Winners were awarded with certificate. Finally, she concluded the day with an important note by World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) that, "Learn basic attributes of physiotherapy profession, build strong character and be a trustworthy personality to get success in this field"
GaneshaChathurthi was celebrated in ShrimadRajchandra College of physiotherapy for 3 days on August 28th 29th and 30th, 2017. This year our students decided to inculcate eco-friendly ways of celebrating Ganesh Utsav. They used clay idol for celebration and urged everyone to use papier-mache, brass, copper or clay idols and go for a symbolic immersion in buckets/ tanks. The chemical paints used to decorate the Ganesh idol contains mercury, lead, cadmium and carbon which increases the acidity and heavy metal content in the water. The aarti were done with 108 diyapooja with chanting of 'GanpatiBappaMorya' followed by the mahaprasad. It was an elaborate preparation of 56 food items offered to Lord Ganesh.Ganesh Chaturthi celebration ends with the immersion of the idol in water.

The chaste bond of love between a brother and sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. 'RakshaBandhan' is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding by a holy thread around the wrist. Shrimad Rajchandra college of Physiotherapy organized a Rakhi Making Competition on 5th august 2017, Saturday. Total Nine teams had participated with zeal and enthusiasm following the theme 'Eco-friendly Rakhi'. Thus, making this event successful. Event was judge by Dr. Snehal Patel and Dr.RajalSukhiyaji. The event concluded by certificate distribution to the winners and participants.
A guest lecture on "Sports Injury & Arthroscopy: Physiotherapist's Point of View" was organized by SRCP on 25thJuly, 2017. The key speaker was Dr. Krunal Shah who has been working in the field of sports medicine, shared his knowledge and personal clinical experience about sports injury and role of arthroscopy in diagnosis as well as in management following the injury. He also discussed the rehabilitation role of physiotherapy post surgery.
Dr. Hitesh organized a seminar on 21thJune, 2017 (International Yoga Day) at Diwaliba Trust, RamjiMandir.
