SRCP organized a seminar on "Clinic & Patient Management For Faculties and Clinical Staff

A seminar on "Clinic and Patient Management" was organized on 20th May2017 for Faculty Members & Clinical staff of S.R.C.P by Dr. Snehal Patel. The Main goal of this seminar was keeping in mind that 'PATIENT IS OUR SOUL & GETTING THEM BETTER SHOULD BE OUR GOAL.'

The key points of the seminar were:

  • Patient Plan of Care & Follow up
  • Basic Assessment Format to be followed in all clinics
  • Evidence Based Practice in India, US & other countries
  • Points to remember on student perspective, which included Clinic Ethics & Discipline to be followed by them.

The seminar was concluded by Dr. Snehal with a note on Ergonomic Advices which are very crucial in everyone's day to day life.

SRCP ORGANIZED ANNUAL FUNCTION AND FAREWELL PARTY "MEMORY TRAILS" ON 7TH APRIL, 2017

ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized annual function and farewell party "Memory Trails" on 7th April 2017. The inaugural function of student's farewell and annual function began with lamp lighting and a prayer was recited to make the occasion auspicious. Dr. Anil Mishra, Director, S.R.C.P welcomed the guests and presented Annual report of academic year 2016-17. ShriBhagubhai Patel (President, BPKM), Dr. Dinesh Shah (Provost, UTU),MrKiritbhai Patel (Secretory, BPKM) and MrArvindbhai Patel (Joint Secretary, BPKM) graced the occasion with their presence.An inspirational speech given by our honorable provost Dr. Dinesh Shah Sir.Students of SRCP performed many cultural activities such as dance, singing, mime,dramaetc. The meritorious students of all semesters who excelled in the academic career tilldate amongst their classmates received this award consisting of a memento and certificate fortheir excellence. Winner of sports day celebration was announced and a trophy was awarded to the Winners and Runners Up team.

Speeches were also given by the students to share theirexperiences and memories during their stay at SRCP. Some of the speeches were quitetouching which was indicative of mixed emotions of the students which they were undergoingduring this phase. The emotions were joyful owing to successful completion of 4 years at theinstitute and little sadness due to leaving the premises, teachers and classmates for the futureendeavors. In an emotionally surcharged atmosphere inside the Auditorium Hall the students, staff and management of the College bid adieu to the final year students, 1st batch of SRCP at a grand farewell function. 6th semester students presented mementoes to the outgoing students of final year.After the cultural performances of the students, our Director Dr. Anil Mishra highlighted fewimportant points which a student can remember and recall after such ceremony. He gave a littleawakening to the students in terms of future Endeavors and also was keen to help them in future interactions as alumni. The Program concluded with vote of thanks by Dr.Heena Rathod andNational Anthem, followed by ice-cream for all.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT AT VISHWAS SURGICAL ORGANIZED BY SRCP ON 29TH MARCH 2017

Industrial visit for 6th semester BPT students, accompanied with one faculty member, was arranged at Vishwas Surgical, Surat on 29th march 2017. The students visited workshop of orthoses and prosthesis in this unit. They were given information about different types of prosthesis used in rehabilitation of patients. They were also given demonstration of donning and doffing technique of prosthesis. Overall the entire industrial visit was informative and useful to the students.

ONE DAY STATE LEVEL CONFERENCE ON "COMPREHENSIVE ORTHO-REHABILITATION OF SPINAL DISORDERS" ON 11TH MARCH, 2017

State level conference on "Comprehensive Ortho-Rehabilitation of Spinal Disorders" was organized by ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy on 11th March, 2017 at UkaTarsadia University-Bardoli.The Inaugural function started with UTU Anthem, Lightening Lamp and Prayer. Dr.Rajiv Raj Choudhry (Chairman, ASHUTOSH Hospital), Dr.HariMenon (HOD-Dept.ofOrthopaedics), Dr. YagnaShukla (Senior Lecturer,Govt.PhysiotherapyCollege-Ahmedabad), Dr. Nehal Shah (I/C principal, SBB Physiotherapy College-Ahmedabad), Dr.NirajBhansali (Director, Spinex) were chief speakers who shared their valuable knowledge about spinal cord injury and it management. There were 300 Delegates who participated in the conference. All the sessions were informative and enlightened the knowledge and skills of delegates. The Conference ended with a vote of thanks by Dr.Bhavik Jhaveri

SPORTS DAYS "KHEL-UTSAV 2017" CELEBRATED BY SHRIMADRAJCHANDRA COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY ON 18TH, 20TH AND 21ST FEBRUARY- 2017

ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy organised Annual sports days "Khel-Utsav" on 18th, 20th and 21st February- 2017. It comprised of total 27 events in boys & girls categories that includes all major Indoor & Outdoor games like Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball,Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table tennis, Badminton, 100*4m relay, 100m run, 200m run, 400m run, Shot put, Discus throw,Carrom, Chess. All students & faculties of ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy enthusiastically & energetically participated in various single & team event game. At the end of the competition 115 gold medals and 115 silver medals were awarded to Winners and runners up respectively. Champion trophy was given to the group A and runnerup trophy was given to group D among four groups.

SRCP Organized a Seminar on "Management Of Osteoarthritis of Knee" By Dr.SanketDiwanji.

Osteoarthritis of knee is one of the most common health problems for individuals now days. Accurate assessment and diagnosis of osteoarthritis, followed by orthopedic management playsa very crucial role for rehabilitation. In order to provide most advanced management guidelines, ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized a seminar on "Management of Osteoarthritis of Knee" on 18th January, 2017 for students of 6th semester of S.R.C.P. The key note speaker, Dr.SanketDiwanji, delivered an active session with emphasis on risk factors, pathology, conservative and surgical management of osteoarthritis of knee. He also discussed various investigative procedures to diagnose osteoarthritis of knee. He also enlightened the role of a physiotherapist following Total Knee Arthroplasty. At the end of seminar students came to know about latest rehabilitation guidelines for Osteoarthritis of Knee.

SRCP students Participated in the UTU level Jugalbandi competition Organized by Music Club of UTU

It is easy to sing on a Karaoke. It is easy to dance on a song being played. But it is not easy to dance on a song being sung by the choir. The Jugalbandi competition organized by the Music club of UTU on 27th January, 2017, was meant to make the students sing and dance at the same time in a group of ten. 10 Students of SRCP participated in this competition and demonstrated a vivid amalgamation of their talents.

SRCP hosted AartiThali Decoration Competition in NavliNavratri celebration 2016

ShrimadRajchandra College of physiotherapy had organisedAartithali decoration competition in a celebration of NavaliNavratri celebration in October 2016. Many students had participated in the competition. There were beautiful Aarti-thalies prepared by students as well as faculties from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Excellent arts and creativity was depicted by all the participants.

SRCP students and staff attended the Gujarat State Conphycs 2016 in Surat.

The 10th State Level Conference (10thGujstateConphycs 2016) was held at the Sarvjanik College of Physiotherapy, Surat on 14th and 15th October 2016. More than 800 participant form all over Gujarat participated in this conference. There were a total of 17 students with 4 faculty members from ShrimadRajchandra College of physiotherapy who participated in this conference. The conference offered great opportunity to attend scientific events that include expert lecture by expertise from different college. ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy had actively participated in different events, held at the conference, i.e cricket, carom, table tennis, chess quiz competition, badminton etc. ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy students secured second rank in boys cricket.

Partipation in the inter-college sports tournament

Students of ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy participated in Inter College Tournament held in October, 2016. This tournament included 3 games - Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton for boys and girls separately. Students of ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy enthusiastically & energetically participated in this tournament. In this tournament, the girls' team of the SRCP were runners' up in all the three games - Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton.

At the 3rd Uth festival held at UTU from 29th September, 2016 to 1st October, 2016 almost there were 177 entries from SRCP in different events. We were winners in the following events:
Mime: 1st
Ad making : 1st
Essay writing : 1st
Clay modelling : 1st
Solo classical: 1st

SRCP Celebrates World Alzheimer's Day on 21st September, 2016

Alzheimer's being one of the fastest growing disorder, SRCP contibutes to its awareness among students by scheduling a lecture delivered by Dr. Heena Rathod briefing about the disease process, symptoms, early recognition and prevention. This was followed by an interactive memory game where the students were made to divide into teams and given tasks to perform or questions to solve that tested different levels of cognition. The session was concluded by awarding certificates and thanksgiving to the participants.

SRCP celebrates World Physiotherapy Day on 8th September, 2016

World Physiotherapy Day was celebrated on 8th September, 2016 by Faculties and students. A poster painting competition was conducted based on the theme and winners and particpants were awarded with certificates. Following this a quiz competition was conducted based on physiotherapy wherein students of 3rd, 5th and 7th semester contributed efficiently. Lastly, the day was concluded by an open discussion between the students and faculties based on values and experiences in physiotherapy.

SRCP Organizes a free physiotherapy camp

SRCP had organized a free physiotherapy camp on 2nd August 2016at Kumar Chattralay of J.H.Bhakt high school, Mahuva. In this camp 49 patients suffering from knee pain, back pain, cerebral palsy, physical deformity, planter fasciitis, and cardio respiratory problem etc. were evaluated and guided for treatment. 2 faculty members and 13 students from college had enthusiastically participated to make this camp successful.

One Day State level Conference held on "Comprehensive Neuro- Rehabilitation in Stroke" on 16th July, 2016

ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy has organised one day state level conference on Comprehensive Neuro- Rehabilitation in Stroke first of its kind in South Gujarat on Saturday 16th July-2016 at UkaTarsadia University campus. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Nilima Patel, HOD, Govt. Physiotherapy College, M.S. University, Baroda.Dr.AniruddhaApte, renowned Neurophysician of Surat, Dr. K. C. Jain, renowned neurosurgeon of Surat,Dr. D.R. Shah, Provost, UTU & Dr. Anil Mishra, Director, SRCP.

There were total 150 delegates from all across the Gujarat represented in this conference. In the pre-lunch session Dr.AnirudhaApte covered all the warning signs, symptoms, diagnosis & medical management of Stroke. Dr. K.C.Jaindiscussed the role of surgery after stroke. Dr. Nilima Patel, stalwart in the field of Physiotherapy discussed the unique concept of Physio-Yoga a Psychophysical approach in Stroke. In the post lunch session, Dr.AshishKakkad discussed different approach for the effective functional management of Stroke patient andDr.SagarNaik, CEO of Asian Physiotherapy & Research centre discussed the concept of Neuroplasticity&recent advancement to rewire the brain following stroke. Dr. Anil Mishra, Director, SRCP was convener & Dr. Chintan Parikh was organising secretary of conference.Management of UkaTarsadia University, all faculty staff & students of SRCP supported very well for the grand success of this conference.
