World Health Day Celebrated on 7th April, 2016 by Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy celebrated World Health Day on 7th April 2016. The theme of World Health Day was "Halt the Rise Beat Diabetes". Dr. Chintan Parikh & Dr. Niyati Desai gave their brief presentation about the importance of this day. With reference to this year theme, brief orientation about epidemiological rise of diabetes, associated risk factors, complications of diabetes, management & prevention strategy were discussed among the students of SRCP.

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy celebrated Annual day "Burnish 2016" on 9th April, 2016

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy and BCA (Honors) jointly organized annual function on 9th April 2016. The annual function began with a formal inauguration ceremony followed by cultural events. Dr. Anil Mishra, Director, S.R.C.P welcomed the guests and presented Annual report of academic year 2015-16. Shri Bhagubhai Patel (President, BPKM), Dr. Dinesh Shah (Provost, UTU), and Mr Kiritbhai Patel (Secretory, BPKM) had grace the occasion with their presence. Students of SRCP performed many cultural activities such as dance, singing, mime, etc. The program was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Pinal Desai.

Sports Days "Khel Kumbh 2016" celebrated by Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy on 5th to 8th March, 2016

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy organised Annual sports week, Khel Kumbh- 2016 on 5th, 7th & 8th March 2016. It comprises of total 14 events in men & women category. It includes all major Indoor & Outdoor games like Cricket, Basketball, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Table tennis, Carom, Chess, Athletics, Badminton, etc. All students & faculties of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy enthusiastically & energetically participated in various single & team event game. At the end of competition 30 gold medals and 30 silver medals were awarded to Winner and runners up, respectively. Champion trophy was given to the group A, who secured 1st position among four groups.

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy celebrated "No Smoking Day" on 9th March, 2016

Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy celebrated Health awareness program 'No Smoking Day on 9th March, 2016. The students of 2nd, 4th and 6th Semester participated in this program. Dr. Kaushik Patel and Dr. Prachi Choksi explained to the students about adverse effect on human body and other social drawback of smoking. Students were also given take home message "Not to support active smoking as well as passive smoking."

Students of SRCP Participated in State Level Quiz competition held in Surat

9 Students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy had participated in state level quiz competition "Physio Inquest 2016" at Sarvajanik college of Physiotherapy, Surat on 12th March-2016. There were total 48 teams participated in this competition. The competition consists of several rounds like case study, abbreviations, rapid fire, modalities identification etc. Five students of 4th semester & four students from 6th semester performed excellently well in the cutting edge competition. Students were guided by Dr. Khushbu Gajjar & Dr. Chintan Parikh.

A Fitness Session organised by Women's cell of SRCP on 8th March, 2016

On occasion of an International Women's day, women cell of SRCP organised a fitness session for female faculties of UTU on 8th March, 2016. Total 25 Participants were there in this program. The program was started with general introduction about importance of exercise in daily routine to maintain and improve fitness. All participants were made to perform general exercise in the form of stretching and simple steps of aerobics. The program was co-ordinated by Dr Khushbu Gajjar and Dr Pinal Desai. Overall, it was an effective session. All the participants enjoyed exercise session.

FDP on 'Professional Etiquette' organized on 19th December, 2015 by Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy organized FDP on 19th December, 2015 on 'Professional etiquettes'. Faculties of S.R.C.P. received well-structured and information rich session on 'Professional Etiquette' by Mr. Mulchand Sen from M.B.A. department, UTU. Etiquette was truly explained under proper mode of conduct or procedure of interaction and behaviour. The session was about appearance- clothing & grooming, workplace etiquettes, office etiquettes, food etiquettes and e-etiquettes. It was informative and at the same time grossly involved each faculty with activities. Everyone was motivated towards enhancing and practicing etiquette.

SRCP participated in Uth fest held from 11th to 13th February,2016

Uth fest at Uka Tarsadia University was organized from 11/02/2016 to 13/02/2016 in university campus. It gave platform for students to showcase the talent in various competitive extracurricular events. Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy had actively participated with 60 students of B.P.T. in different events i.e. music, fashion, literary art, fine art; dance and fashion and fun fair etc.

"FUN WEEK" Celebration held at SRCP from 4th February to 10th February, 2016

Students of SRCP had celebrated fun week by organizing different days i.e. environment day, group day, diet & signature day, casual day, physio and twin day and health awareness day etc. All students of S.R.C.P actively participated with novel ideas to celebrate different days in college. Some of them planted trees; some danced to the traditional garba tunes, performed skit, and played games. Students gained knowledge about environment protection, road courtesy etc.

A Study Tour organised by SRCP on 8th February, 2016.

A visit to the Vishwas surgical's Orthosis & Prosthesis workshop, Surat was organized on 8th February, 2016 for Students of 6th semester BPT. The students visited workshop of orthosis and prosthesis in this visit. They were given information about different types of prosthesis used in rehabilitation of patients. They learnt assessment of prosthesis on patients. They were also given demonstration of donning and doffing technique of prosthesis. Overall the tour was informative and useful to the students.

A visit to Parvatibai Leprosy Hospital, Suratwas arranged for 6th semester students of B.P.T. on 8th February, 2016

A visit to Parvatibai Leprosy Hospital, Suratwas arranged for 6th semester students of B.P.T. on 8th February, 2016. One faculty along with studentshad visited different departments of the hospital like wards, dispensary, physiotherapy department, rehabilitation ward, etc. A detailed explanation regarding each department was given during this visit. This was followed by a detailed presentation about the leprosy disease, its clinical presentation andmedical &physiotherapy management in Leprosy. Students came to know about the role of physiotherapy in the overall health management in leprosy.

One Day Workshop on "Dry Needling New Avenues in Physiotherapy" organized by SRCP on 19th Jan, 2016

Shrimad Rajchandra college of Physiotherapy organised one day Workshop on Dry Needling- New Avenues in Physiotherapy for 3rd Year students of B.P.T. on 19th January 2016. Dr. Chandrakant Modi, Principal, Shree Swaminarayan Physiotherapy College, Eminent Physiotherapist was resource person. The Workshop started with felicitation of Dr. Chandrakant Modi by Director, SRCP, Dr. Anil Mishra. Introductory speech was given by Dr. Chintan Parikh. In the first session of Workshop Dr. Chandrakant Modi covered all the basic principles, indication, precaution & contraindication of Dry needling. In the second session he provided hands on practical application of Dry Needling. He also assessed two patients & applied technique on patients & proved its clinical application. In the last interactive session, question answers were discussed among speaker, faculties and students. Almost 60 participants participated in this one day Workshop. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Khushbu Gajjar.

One Day seminar on "Recent Updates in Electrotherapy" organized by SRCP on 11th Jan, 2016

Shrimad Rajchandra college of Physiotherapy organised one day seminar on Recent Updates in electrotherapy for 3rd year students of B.P.T. on 11th January 2016. Dr. Mayank Thakkar, Director, Clinical Specialist, Incharge of Bio Tech Academy was resource person. The seminar started with felicitation of Dr. Mayank Thakkar by Director, SRCP, Dr. Anil Mishra. Introductory speech was given by Dr. Chintan Parikh. In the first session of seminar Dr. Mayank Thakkar covered all the novice currents in electrotherapy & gave important talk on updates in various types of currents and equipment used in electrotherapy. In the afternoon special session was reserved for faculties. He also provided hands on practical demonstration of latest combination therapy unit & other high tech electrotherapeutic machine for treatment of patients. In the last interactive session question answer were discussed among speaker, faculties and students. Almost 60 participants participated in this one day seminar. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Khushbu Gajjar.

A Free BMD camp organised by SRCP on 5th and 6th January, 2016

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy in collaboration with Konverge Health care pvt. Ltd had organized a Free BMD camp on 5th and 6th Jan, 2016 for University staff, people around bardoli and nearby village. Camp was organized at college OPD, Maliba campus and Ramji Mandir OPD, Bardoli. In this Camp total 351 people were examined for Bone mineral density. A renowned Dr. Mahesh Shukla from bardoli and staff of SRCP were present in the camp. All people were given guidance to maintain as well as improve bone mineral density with help of proper diet and exercise to prevent osteoporosis. Staff and Students from SRCP had enthusiastically participated to make this camp successful.

SDP on "Motivation" held on 31st October, 2015 at SRCP

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy had organized one day seminar on 'Motivation' for Students and faculties of S.R.C.P. The key note speaker Mr. Mulchand Sen efficiently delivered an active session with emphasis on self, social, regional, national and global motivation. He also encompassed role of motivation in rehabilitation of patients. Individuals motivated towards their national and global responsibilities and duties. Basic needs, social needs and self-actualization were explained in a very fine manner.

A Study Tour organised by SRCP on 23rd September, 2015

Students of SRCP brought to the VISHWAS surgical's Orthosis & Prosthesis workshop, Surat on 23rd September, 2015. The main motto of arranging study visit to an Orthosis & Prosthesis workshop was to enhance student's knowledge on use of Orthosis/ Proshesis in rehabilitation. The visit has enlightened in detail about the manufacturing, molding and fabrication, measurement methods, indications- contraindications, precautions for the use of Orthosis/Prosthesis. With this knowledge it was easy to learn for the students the role of Physiotherapy in rehabilitation with Orthosis & Prosthesis.

Poster Competition organised in SRCP on World Physiotherapy Day 8th September, 2015

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy had celebrated World Physiotherapy Dayon 8th September, 2015 by organising Poster competition in the college. The theme internationally is as decided by WCPT-2015 "Fulfilling potential". 11 studentsfrom 3rd and 5th semester have participated enthusiastically in this competition.They have showcased their creative ideas and made poster on various condition in which people need physiotherapy treatment to fulfil potential.Best two posters were judged by faculty members in the college to appreciate students' work in this competition.

A Diabetes Screening Programme organised by SRCP on 3rd December, 2015

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy along with Uka Tarsadia University organized a Free Diabetes Screening Programme on 3rd December, 2015, at Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy. In this program total 65 people including University, College Staff, Students and People from nearby Village were screened for Diabetes and given guidance to prevent it. Staff and Students from SRCP had enthusiastically participated in this program.

SDP on "Public Speaking" held on 18th & 19th Sept, 2015 at SRCP

Shrimad Rajchandra college of Physiotherapy had organized Public Speaking symposium for the Students of 3rd and 5th Semester B.P.T on 18th & 19th Sept, 2015. The core objective of selecting this topic was How to make public speaking effective? The speaker, Dr. Niyati Desai had given emphasis on anxiety management tricks, the benefits and key notes on positive body language during public speaking and many more do and do to make public speaking effective. Students were actively involved throughout the session with some sparkling activities and interactions. Session was ended with some key point material given to students.

Prayer Competition held on 22nd September 2015, at SRCP

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Sports had organized prayer competition on 22nd September, 2015 in an honour of Mr Bhagubhai Patel's Birthday. Students from SRCP had participated in this competition. Students have performed group and solo recitals. All students had shown their eternal faith in god by their voices.

STATE LEVEL WORKSHOP ON "FIRST AID AND INJURY MANAGEMENT IN SPORTS" ON 19TH AUGUST 2015

State level workshop on "First Aid and Injury management in Sports" was jointly organized by Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy and Shrimad Rajchandra School of Sports on 19th August, 2015 at Uka Tarsadia University Bardoli.

The Inaugural function started with UTU Anthem, Lightening Lamp and Prayer. Ms Razia Sheikh, an international Javelin throw player, India was the Special Guest. Mr. S A Raval, Vice president of Badminton association of India was the chief guest of this workshop. Mr. David Paul, Director of physical Education and Youth Welfare, Dr. N K Datta, Director Physical Education, SVNIT, Surat were the guest of Honor. There were 300 Delegates participated in this workshop. Speakers Dr. Pavan Desai, Dr. Hardik Patel, Dr. Khushbu Gajjar & Dr. Chintan Parikh had explained all domains of First Aid management in different types of Sports Injury. All the sessions were informative and enlighten the knowledge and skills of delegates. Workshop was ended with vote of thanks.

Inauguration of new Building of Shrimadrajchandra College of Physiotherapy dated on 17th January, 2015

UkaTarsadia University has inaugurated new Building of SRCP on 17th January,2015 at Maliba campus, Bardoli.The inauguration function was organised by the University Management, staff and students of ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy.The program was started with welcoming all guests followed by lightening the lamp. New Physiotherapy Building was inaugurated by Dr. M MPrabhkar, Suprentendent, Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. SRCP OPD was inaugurated by LaxmibenGopalbhai Patel, Prabha-Arvind Therapeutic Gymnasium was inaugurated by Mrs. Manjuben and Mr. Ramanbhaipatel, Premi-paragmeditation hall was inaugurated by Mrs. Pushpabentarsadia, and Information technologycenter was inaugurated by Mr. Bhakti Bhai Bhakta.

Uka Tarsadia University launches new Physiotherapy Clinic at Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli on 7th November, 2014

Uka Tarsadia University launched a new Physiotherapy Clinic on 7th November, 2014 at Sardar Smarak hospital, Bardoli with an objective to serve the community. The treatment for conditions like osteoarthritis, joint pain, paralysis, spondylosis, cerebral palsy, geriatrics condition, etc. will be given free of cost to the general public at this centre. The inauguration function was organised by the University Management, staff and students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy. Shri Bhuladada and family have generously contributed to the cause. Sardar hospital Trust also participated in this program enthusiastically. The program started with prayers and welcome of guests followed by lightening the lamp.

"Clean Campus Mission" at SRCP on 11th October 2014

As a part of Clean Campus Mission of Uka Tarsadia University, Faculty of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy has organised cleaning activities inside and outside college building on 11th October, 2014. Total 45 students of first semester BPT and faculty of ShrimadRajchandra College of Physiotherapy hasenthusiastically participated and cleaned all open areas inside and outside Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy building, classrooms, all flowerbeds near and surrounding building and other commonplace viz., roads etc.

Inauguration of Physiotherapy Clinic at Ramji mandir Campus, Bardoli on 10th October 2014

Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy has inaugurated a new physiotherapy clinic on 9th October, 2014 at Ramji mandir campus, bardoli.The program was organised by University trust, college staff and students. There was also contribution from Bhuladada & Family. Ramjimandir trust has participated in this program enthusiastically. The program was started with prayers and welcoming all guests followed by lightening the lamp. The conditions like osteoarthritis, joints pain, paralysis, spondylosis, Cerebral palsy, geriatrics condition, etc. will be given free of cost physiotherapy treatment in this centre.

Teacher's day celebration, Date: 5th September 2014

The students of SRCP celebrated Teacher's Day on 5th September 2014. The students have shown their respect towards the efforts of all teaching faculty for their support & guidance. All the teaching faculties were honoured by presenting memento. Dr. Anil Mishra, Principal, SRCP gave an inspiring and motivating speech. He shared his experience and importance of teacher in life. The students had also arranged various games for the teachers. Whole the programme was organised nicely by the students and was appreciated by all the faculty members.

Effective Teaching workshop held by Dr.Bhushan Trivedi on 30th & 31st August 2014

The faculty Members of ShrimadRajchandracollege of physiotherapy attended a two day faculty development program on effective teaching held on 30th & 31st august 2014 by Dr.Bhushan Trivedi, Director of GLS institute of computer technology Ahmedabad. Workshop contained the issue of different learning styles and its modes to have an effective learning by balancing all types of learners. It was also aimed at different ways of encouraging active involvement of learners in the class room.

Self Defence Training Provided to Girl Students by the Police Department, Mahuva as part of Mahila Sashktikaran Abhiyan, AUGUST 2014

As a part of Mahila shashaktikaran abhiyan, mahuva police department organised a self defence program in UTU premises for all the girl students and faculty members from 11th august to 13th august, 2014. During this the girls were motivated to fight against crime happening in the state. The students were taught various self defence techniques along with practical demonstration and allowed to practice every technique. They also imparted knowledge about women rights. Overall the programme was beneficial and informative for all the participants and they learnt the tricks of self protection in case of emergency.

Breast Feeding Seminar held on 8th august 2014 organized by MBNC as a part of World breast feeding week, 2014

World Breast Feeding Week - 2014 was celebrated on 08/08/2014 by Maniba Bhula Nursing College, UTU, Bardoli. The program was organized by the OBG Dept, MBNC. An expert talk on the topic by Dr. Nirali Mehta, MD, Pediatric Department, SMIMER Medical College, Surat, regarding importance of breast milk, breastfeeding & various techniques and posture for effective breast feeding. Also information regarding Human Breast milk Bank, "Yashodha Project" which is run by SMIMER Medical College, Surat since 2008 was given. Students and staff members of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy participated in this programme. The program imparted excellent knowledge to all.

Table tennis and Badminton tournament held on 1st-2nd august and 5th-6th august, 2014 organized by Shrimad Rajchandra School of Sports

SRCP students had participated in the Inter-college Table-Tennis and Badminton tournaments organized by Shrimad Rajchandra School of Sports on 1st-2nd august and 5th-6th august, 2014. The students of SRCP had performed extremely well and as a result of it, one girl named ZEEL PATEL student of 3rd semester, BPT selected for table tennis university team.
