Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy, a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University posted MPT (Sports) students in Gujarat State Senior & Sub-Junior weightlifting championship held in Surat on 27th February & 7th March, 2021 respectively.The championship organized by Gujarat State Weightlifting Association. 5 MPT (Sports) students were appointed as sports physiotherapists. More than 50 players were treated for different injuries such as hamstring strain, calf muscle cramp, patellar injury, etc. by our MPT students during the competition. Our service was highly appreciated by the players as well as by the organizers of the tournament. Students had really a nice on-field exposure.
3rd edition of Deccan Ultra was held at Kalsubai, Sahyadri, Maharastra between 12-14February, 2021. Students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy had volunteered as physiotherapists. The trail race consists of 13 km, 30 km, 55 km, 80 km and 115 km. The Deccan Ultra route includes the highest peak of Maharashtra, Kalsubai at an altitude of 1646 m and the toughest triple-trouble forts in Sahyadri; Alanggad, Madangad and Kulanggad.
Students had a great learning experience to work at challenging situation. Our student volunteers gave physiotherapy treatment to prevent post running muscle soreness in terms of stretching of major group of muscles. On field physiotherapy were given for acute running specific injuries. It was tremendously stimulating as well as entirely a different experience for the students. Athletes from all over the world had participated in the race. SRCP is heartily thankful to Mr.Sandeep Kumar for giving such an opportunity to our students. Student's hard work was appreciated by the organizers, sponsors and the athletes.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy in association with NSS, Social Service Club of Uka Tarsadia University and Vedant Ayurvedic Hospital (Janseva Kendra), Bardoli has arranged free Ayurvedic Kadha distribution at Palasana village on 9th July, 2020. Around 700 people of village were benefitted from Ayurvedic kadha distribution. People of village were made aware about importance of boosting immunity during Covid Pandemic time. Distribution of kadha was made by maintaining social distancing. All the ingredients of Ayurvedic Kadha were manufactured in Janseva Kendra. This event has been coordinated by Dr. Niyati Desai and Dr. Sweta Upadhyay.
