Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy in association with Social Service Club, UTUhas organized free physiotherapy camp in Songadh on 28th March 2020. During this camp total 39 patients with various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions were evaluated and guided for further treatment. Patients were educated on home exercise program and few were recommended for seeking for regular treatment. One SRCP staff along with 35 students participated devotedly.
2nd edition of Deccan Ultra was held at Kalsubai, Sahyadri, Maharastra on 8-9 February 2020. Students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy, UTU along with team leader Dr. Niyati Desai had volunteered as physiotherapy care provider. The trail race consists of 12 km, 30 km, 55 km, 80 km and 115 km. The Deccan Ultra route includes the highest peak of Maharashtra, Kalsubai at an altitude of 1646m and the toughest triple-trouble forts in Sahyadri; Alanggad, Madangad and Kulanggad.
Students had a great learning experience to work at challenging situation. Our student and faculty Volunteers gave physiotherapy treatment to prevent post running muscle soreness in terms of stretching of major group of muscles. On field physiotherapy were given for acute running specific injuries. It was tremendously stimulating as well as entirely a different experience for the students. Athletes from all over the world had participated in the race. SRCP is heartily thankful to Mr.Sandeep Kumar for giving such an opportunity to our students. Student's hard work was appreciated by the organizers, sponsors and the athletes.
6 students of Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy volunteered in Surat City Run Marathon organised by Decathlon, Surat on 29th December, 2019.It was a 33km run in which nearly 500 athletes participated. Our physiotherapy team treated various musculoskeletal injuries incorporated by the runners during the marathon. More than 80 runners were given physiotherapy treatment during and after the event.It was really a great experience for students in terms of treating on-field running injuries. SRCP is thankful to the organisers of this marathon.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy volunteered in "Surat 10km marathon" in association withUnique Hospital which was held on 8th December, 2019.It was a 10km run in which around 500 athletes participated. Our physiotherapy team treated various musculoskeletal problems and injuries incorporated by the runners during the marathon. More than 175 runners were given physiotherapy treatment during and after the event. 10 students from SRCP enthusiastically volunteered as physiotherapists for this event. It was really a great experience for students in terms of treating running injuries. SRCP is thankful to Unique Hospital for giving us such an opportunity.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy, a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University posted MPT (Sports) students in Khel-Mahakumbh-2019. The tournament organized by the Surat District Sports Association which was an Inter-District tournament. Five MPT (Sports) students provided physiotherapy service in sports such as kabaddi, wrestling, football, taekwondo, athletics, volleyball, hockey etc. for various Men'Ă‚Âs & Women's category. More than 100 players were treated for different injuries by our MPT students during the tournament. Our service was highly appreciated by the players as well as by the organizers of the tournament. Students really had an enriching on-field exposure.
Tapi Monsoon Half Marathonheld on 8th September, 2019 whose starting and ending point was from Jilla Seva Sadan, Vyara. This was the first marathon in Vyara for the community which ended with the scenic view and cool weather. It was a 5km, 10km and 21 km run. On field physiotherapy was given for acute running specific injuries.Many eliteand recreational runners took benefit of this physiotherapy service provided. 3 faculties and 37 students enthusiastically volunteered as physiotherapists for this event on Ă‚ÂWorld Physiotherapy Day. The event was co-ordinated by Dr.Snehal Patel.
Shrimad Rajchandra college physiotherapy, had organized a 2 days free physiotherapy camp on 26th& 27th August 2019, at Referral Hospital, Community Health Center of ValodVillage. In this camp 64 Patients suffering from various conditions as osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, spondylosis, joint pains, paralysis, Bells palsy, tennis elbow, burns, geriatric, & other gynecological problems, deformities, cardio respiratory problems etc were evaluated and guided for proper treatment. The camp was enthusiastically organized by the university trust, in which 2 physiotherapy college staff and 84 students participated.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy, Uka Tarsadia University provided free physiotherapy service in Feel Forest Run Marathon organized at Padam dungri, Gujarat on 18th of August 2019. Students and faculties gave physiotherapy treatment to prevent post running muscle soreness in terms of stretching of major group of muscles. On field physiotherapy were given for acute running specific injuries. More than 500 elite and recreational runners had participated in marathon and benefited with physiotherapy service. Total 17 students and faculties volunteered as physiotherapist for this event. The activity was carried out by Musculoskeletal department of SRCP and coordinated by Dr. Snehal Patel, Dr. Niyati Desai and Dr. Sweta Upadhyay.
Free Physiotherapy camp was organized in Vishvakarma temple Hall, Unai road of Vyara on 16/7/2019. In this camp 20 Patients suffering from various conditions as osteoarthritis, joint pains, paralysis, Bells palsy, geriatric, deformities, cardio respiratory problems etc were evaluated and guided for proper treatment. The camp was enthusiastically organized by the university trust, in which 2 physiotherapy staff and 52 students participated.
ShrimadRajchandra College of physiotherapy has organized camp in Revive Physiotherapy clinic of Buhari Village on 15/7/2019. In this camp 27 Patients suffering from various conditions as osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, spondylosis, joint pains, paralysis, Bells palsy, tennis elbow, burns, geriatric, deformities, cardio respiratory problems etc were evaluated and guided for proper treatment. The camp was enthusiastically organized by the university trust, in which 1 physiotherapy college staff and 46 students participated.
Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy, a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University posted 3 students in Hell Ultra Race-480 KM which was held between Manali-Leh highway which is considered to be one of the toughest highway around the world because of its high altitude and harsh weather. Students had to deal with conditions such as shin pain, foot pain, muscle cramps, DOMS, hypoxia etc. Management part included stretching, isometric exercises, breathing exercises, myofascial release etc. It was extremely challenging as well as totally a different experience for the students. Athletes from all over the world had participated in the race. SRCP is heartily thankful to Mr. Sandeep Kumar for giving such an opportunity. Shrimad Rajchandra College of physiotherapy, a constituent institute of UKA Tarsadia University posted MPT (Sports) students at Sports Authority of India (SAI-Gandhinagar) from20/05/2019 to 20/06/2019. All the students were guided by the senior coach, appointed physiotherapists of SAI and conditioning coach in order to provide best knowledge about fitness assessment, conditioning program and rehabilitation strategies for various sports. Students were given opportunity to assess, diagnose various sports injuries and also given the freedom to plan a treatment protocol for the same. Advanced physiotherapeutic techniques such as myofascial release, strength conditioning training were taught to the students. Students were also came to know about various difficulties that players come across during their conditioning phase.Senior coach, support staff appreciated the efforts and interest which our students put throughout this 1 month of posting at SAI. Students had really a nice clinical and on-field exposure.
