Department of Physics, Uka Tarsadia University organized an online Physics MCQ examination for board aspirants as per the reduced syllabus on 13/06/2021 at 11:00 AM. More than 150 board aspirants appeared in the test and received certificate on the same day. Department of Physics heartily congratulate all the students. This test help students to improve their knowledge about the physics subject. Miss. Dnyaneshwari Pramod Nemade (from Podar International School, Bhusawal) got first rank in Physics Quest for English medium students. Mr. Digpalsinh Ranjitsinh Thakor (from AB School, Navsari) got first rank in Physics Quest for Gujarati medium students. Miss Hira Rashid (from Pragyan public school, Jewar), Mr. Gandhi Jay Manojkumar (from AB School, Navsari), Mr. Aman Asifbhai Shaikh (from AB School, Navsari) and Mr. Ayan Asifbhai Shaikh (from AB School, Navsari) got second rank in Physics Quest for English medium students. Miss Savaliya Twinkle (Tapan School, Rajkot), got second rank in Physics Quest for Gujarati medium students. Miss. Shravani Shailesh Bandekar (from The New College, Kolhapur) got third rank in Physics Quest for English medium students. Miss. Patel Shreya Jitendrabhai (Kanya vidhyalaya, Astan, Bardoli) got third rank in Physics Quest for Gujarati medium students.
Department of Physics organize the session on Women’s Health and Hygiene on the Women’s Day (8 March 2021). The session was scheduled in morning 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Total 21 Female students of M.Sc. Physics and Integrated M.Sc. Physics participated in the session.
Department of Physics, UTU celebrated Science day on February 27, 2021. Science Day is celebrated every year on 28 February to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman. Final Semester M.Sc. Physics and Integrated M.Sc. Physics students give seminar on various science topics in the session.

Nehanshi Bhandari (Student, M.Sc. Physics Semester IV, Department of Physics, UTU) participated and give oral presentation in the Virtual International Conference on Physical Sciences (ICPS-2021) organized by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat during 05 - 06 February, 2021.
Department of Physics organized NDT training programme in collaboration with ADS NDT & Inspection Services during 21 January to 2 February 2021. Training program was organized for final semester of Integrated M.Sc. Physics and M.Sc. Physics students. The training program covered testing methods such as Dye Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Radiography Testing and Ultrasonic testing. Mr. Harshit Desai (Assistant Professor, CGPIT, UTU), Mr. Rahul Gandhi (ASNT NDT LEVEL III) and Dr. Kinjal Patel (Assistant Professor, DoP, UTU) and Dr. Jaymin Ray (Assistant Professor, DoP, UTU) delivered lectures during the training program. The practical training session conducted at Physics and CGPIT laboratory under guidance of Mr. Harshit Desai. After training program, students appeared for the examination. Total 22 students successfully completed training and qualified training examination as per ASNT (American Standards for Non Destructive Testing) norms. Students received training certificate by ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) NDT LEVEL III from ADS NDT & Inspection Services Company. Department of Physics is thankful to Mr. Harshit Desai (Assistant Professor, CGPIT, UTU), Mr. Rahul Gandhi (ASNT NDT LEVEL III) for their support in organizing the training programme.
Department of Physics, UTU had organized the Alumni meet under the banner of Training and placement cell on October 10, 2020. The focus of the meet is to illustrate the Scope, and Physics subject. In addition to that discussion was prolonged toward the future opportunities of Physics in the modern era of the world. Final year B.Sc. and M.Sc. Students took part and interacted with the alumni and discussed their experiences faced on job. Alumni had presented their work profile and their journey to reach the current position in the industry as well as in academics.
Department of Physics, UTU organized painting competition as part of online Janmashtami celebration on August 13, 2020. Students share their paintings on the Janmashtmi theme. Miss. Mann Kapadia from Integrated M.Sc. Physics Semester 5 got first prize in the competition. Miss. Vishwa Desai from Integrated M.Sc. Physics Semester 9 got second prize in the competition.
Department of Physics, UTU celebrated Paper Bag Day with theme "Say Yes to Paper Bag - Say Yes to Nature" on July 12, 2020. The day aims to spread awareness about using paper bags instead of plastic to help reduce plastic waste that take thousands of years to decompose. Students along with faculty member celebrated the day by taking pledge to use paper bags in daily life.
