Duration of the program is four years; divided into eight semesters.
After completion of this programme the student can join Pharma industry, Cosmetic industry, Herbal industry and Clinical Research Organization (CRO) in various departments like Production, Quality Control, R & D and Marketing etc. He/ she can also join as a Hospital Pharmacist, Drug Inspector or Government Analyst and work as a part of Healthcare team in various public or private sectors. Student can start up his/her own business as a wholesaler or retailer. Candidate can also pursue higher studies like M.Pharm, MBA.

FAQs for Pharm. D Programme
Pharm. D course is a Professional Pharmacy doctoral programme of 6- year duration after 10+2 (science academic stream) which includes 5 years of academic study + 1 year of internship or residency.
Pharm. D (PB) course is a Professional Pharmacy doctoral Programme. B. Pharm graduates shall be admitted as lateral entry candidate to the 4th year of Pharm. D programme & the duration of course is 3 academic years (2 years of study and 1 year of internship or residency).
For Pharm. D:
- A pass in 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
- A pass in D. Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy council of India under section 12 of The Pharmacy Act.
For Pharm. D (Post Baccalaureate):
- A pass in B. Pharm from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
Applications will be invited by institutes and admission will be given on the basis of merit if candidate fulfil eligibility criteria stated by PCI.

Yes, Pharm. D is a registrable qualification under the Pharmacy Act 1948.
Both B.Pharm and Pharm.D are the registrable qualification for practicing pharmacy profession under the Pharmacy Act. B. Pharm is a 4 years course and Pharm.D is 6 years course including one year of clinical internship.
