UTU Central Library[ B U Tarsadia Learning Resource Centre] remains open between 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all working days except 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, Sundays.
Books are arranged on the shelf as per subject classified order (According to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme). The flow diagram of book shelves are available in library and also host on web page.
OPAC stands for Online Public Access Catalogue. This is database of all books, reference books, e-books, theses, reports, bound volumes etc, available in the library.
To find a particular book you can use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue of Library books). Else you can contact the Books Circulation Desk
University website have library home page; there is a quick link for library OPAC . you can search library materials by title, author, subject, ISBN, call number etc...
"Advance search" option is also available for specific key word search, limit search by item type, publication, language subject, keyword etc with operators and, or, not.
All enrolled students, staff, faculty and other member of university are get membership by registering themselves as library member by certifying them self as concern authority of university.
Yes, you can renew your membership. For renewal of membership you have submitted current semester fee receipt Xerox along with renewal membership form; your membership valid from one academic year which expired in Jun each year.
Loss of the Library card should be immediately reported to the Library membership/ registration desk. The duplicate smart card can be issued by University on the payment of Rs. 200/-
Library members can issue/borrow books for home lending, but Reference, Reserved and Rare Books are not issued.
Students can borrow books for a period of 15 days. Borrowed books can be renewed. Your renewal request will not be accepted if the book is heavily overdue or in demand by others.
You should inform circulation staff immediately and replace the latest edition of the same book. If the book is out of print or not available in the market, then you have to follow the instruction of the Librarian.
Any form of marking or writing in a book, whether it is with pencil or pen, is not permitted. Folding of corners of book is also prohibited. Anyone vandalizing a book in this way is liable to be charged a fine to cover the cost of book and also can be banned from using Library.
Nobody is allowed to borrow books from the library on someone else's card. If it being use by other member the owner of the card can responsible for it.
No, same book cannot be allow at same time.
Yes, you can reserve the required document in your library account which are already checked out to any member. The reserved document can only be issued to you as and when the return to the library within the stipulated period failing which the reservation stands automatically cancelled when the time is over.
Central Library provides Xerox facility to its users. The charge for an A4 size Xerox page is @ Rs 1/-. Entire book/document is not allowed to be Xeroxed. Periodical articles can be Xeroxed.

Library workstations are intended only for searching the Library Catalogue, Database and access of electronic resources, hence personal use of the same is strictly prohibited.

If the damage is minor, you have to pay binding charges else you have to replace it with the new one.
No dues /clearance certificate is issue that all the outstanding dues in respect of borrowed books and delay fine, if any, are cleared. Smart card cum library card must be submitted along with prescribed Institute No dues application form in case of students, research scholars, staff members and faculty members. Library No due application form is available on website as well as library desk.
