The department is one of the pioneering departments since the commencement The department has qualified faculty members engaged in teaching with the aim of achieving excellence in various fields. The vision of this department is to shape infrastructure development with social focus. The mission of the department is to offering continuous education and developing professional and skilled civil engineers.

The under graduates coming out from the polytechnic are well prepared with skill based knowledge and technical awareness. They refined with professional touch, are capable of undertaking the Civil Engineering jobs to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.

Scope / Opportunities

Role of (Departmental) Engineer

Civil engineers are considered to be indispensable professionals. They have one of the greatest responsibilities on this planet, i.e to build the quality of life. With technical as well as creative skills, these professionals plan, design, build and operate the infrastructure necessary for modern civilization, ranging from public water systems and public amenities to highways and bridges.

We may not truly sense the significance of civic engineering in our daily routine. The function of civil engineering begins with the start of the day when you get down to your routine oral hygiene. The water which you use is delivered through a water supply system with a well designed network of pipes, water treatment plant and many other important things associated with this.

The efficient network of roads that we use to get around the city is a product of civil engineering. Even the energy we need at home and in our business premises is available to us due to the direct contribution of civil engineers who built the towers for the transmission

A civil engineer has the responsibility to design safe structures that meet standard codes in the regions where they are being built. They must ensure these structures are designed with efficiency, safety, maintenance, and durability in mind.

Civil engineering companies offer a wide range of services in designing and planning of public infrastructure. They also oversee the construction and maintenance of the infrastructure

Department Best Practices

• All the students are registered in SWAYAM courses and NPTEL courses under “Student Development Scheme” by the government of India. In such courses students are motivated to register themselves to learn various academic modules online.
• Diwaliba Polytechnic celebrates all significant national and social days in order to spread awareness among students. National days such as Independence day, Republic day, Gandhi Jayanti and social days such as Engineers’ day, Teacher’s day, Constitution Day, Yoga Divas, yuva divas, Ozone day etc.
• Students of Diwaliba polytechnic every year conduct social welfare and help nearby tribal communities by organizing cloth donation camps and social awareness sessions to educate them.
• Slow learners are identified among all the classes and various remedial classes are regularly organized on Saturdays during the whole semester and they are encouraged to perform better.
• Yoga, Meditation and physical activities are embroiled into regular time table for students to improve mental and physical strength of the students. Students improve various qualities by engaging themselves in such virtues.
• Soft skills, Entrepreneurship and other co curricular skills are inculcated among students by organizing talks events and expert sessions by Diwaliba polytechnic every year under “Startup India” scheme.
• Individual counseling of students is conducted by faculty members of the Diwaliba Polytechnic. This includes student’s personal as well as academic counseling and tracking record of their performance during 3 year tenure.
• In order to enhance student’s overall performance parents-teacher meet is organized twice a year so that each and every aspect of students’ growth can be ensured.
• Apart from academic performance of students, post Diploma career counseling is also conducted and placement and academic internships are provided to students in various industries.
• To give practical overview and on field training students are taken to various industries and companies for visit and observe their functions periodically.
• Students of Diwaliba polytechnic are encouraged to organize various sports and cultural activities to enhance their extracurricular skills and for that every year sports week and Youth festival are organized by university.
