Paheli
It is the Quiz Competition consisting questions on General Knowledge, Current affairs, History, Business, Indian culture and the world heritage.
Team Size: 3 Students
Basic Rules of Paheli:
- Apart from Elimination, there will be three rounds in quiz.
- Specific rules of each round will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Ad-Munch
Ad-Munch is an advertising competition. The aim of this event is to check creativity and communication skills of the participants.
Team Size: 4 Students
Basic Rules of Ad-Munch:
- Round 1 include preparing print advertisement on given theme followed by itspresentation. Student need to bring all required resources from home.
- After Round 1, selected teams will design and perform TV advertisement on given theme.
- Specific rules of each round will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Tatvichar
Extempore is a stage performance which is carried out without any or few minute preparation time. It is a competition in which participants have an option of topics and upon that particular topic he/she have to speak in a limited time.
Team Size: Individual
Basic Rules of Tatvichar:
- Participant can use any of given languages i.e. Gujarati, Hindi or English. There will not be any impact of language on evaluation.
- Participants have to take care of the time given to him/her - Time for thinking and time to speak on the topic. Specific rules will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Amne Samne
Debating is a more formal way of communicating. It builds confidence and self-esteem in people. If we can speak publicly and convey our ideas and thoughts coherently and passionately, we have a valuable tool that can aid us in our public, private and future lives.
Team Size : Team of 2 students.
Basic Rules of Amne Samne:
- Out of two participants, one will favor the topic and another will take stand against the topic.
- Specific rules will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
- Team has to select any one topic for the debate out of following:
- Is demonetization is good for Indian Economy?
- Do we need surgical strike on existing education system in India?
- Is Democracy hampering the Indian progress?
- Does budget 2017 is falling short to revive growth?
- Make in India! But Can India Make It?
- Social networking-Good or Bad
Vyapar Aayojan
Business Plan Competition encourages to stretch your self-imposed limits, expand your comfort zone and make the impossible, possible. Here students will get an opportunity to design and present a Business Plan.
Team Size: - 4 students
Basic Rules of Vyapar Aayojan:
- Elimination Round would include Business Plan related knowledge test.
- In second round, students will make presentation on Business Plan on one of the theme out of following:
Financial Consultancy, Pesticides, Building Materials, Vegetable supply, Solar system & Equipment, House Keeping Service, Transportation service and Waste management
- Third Round involve preparing and presenting 5 point plan on given theme on the spot in given time. Students have to manage resources on their own.
Important:
Each participant team has to submit written 15 page (maximum) business plan of selected theme latest by 13 February 2017 to bizxcellence@utu.ac.in. However, they are allowed to carry ppt on the event day. It is responsibility of team to keep back-up of files.
- Specific rules of each round will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Nivesh
Nivesh is an investment game. Students will be given online/offline platform for investment where their investment skills will be measured.
Team Size: Individual
Basic Rules of Nivesh:
- Participant has to invest in online/offline stock market.
- Basic knowledge of capital market and current update is desired.
- All decisions taken by the committee member will be final.
- Specific rules will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Kalakari
Whether you use written, verbal or non-verbal communication, you can use role- playing to teach yourself and your employees' proper communication techniques. Effective communication, presentation skills are crucial for interpersonal communication. This event aims at assessing presentation skill, communication skill and creativity of participant. The participant will get exposure to face current market situation.
Team Size: 4 Students
Basic Rules of Kalakari:
- Participant can use any of given languages i.e. Gujarati, Hindi or English. There willnot be any impact of language on evaluation.
- Participant team has to perform Role Play on any one theme out of following:
- E-learning -substitute for classroom learning.
- Flexi timing or fixed timing- Which is better at Work place?
- Contribution to social sector while being employed in the corporate world.
- Selling of life insurance to your client
- Female feticide
- Importance of soft skill in corporate world
- An influence of online social network on our youth
- Perks of advertising
- Assertive Communication-Saying 'No' Assertively
- Work life balance
- Motivating a de-motivated employee by a manager.
- Conflict Resolution between two employees by peer
- Business etiquette & manners
- Meeting in Organization for Specific Cause like solving strike etc.
- Selling of credit and debit card to bank customer
- Impact of academic Pressure on Students
- Films are corrupting the Indian youth
- Parenting plays important role in building character of child.
- Next, selected 5 best teams would be performing Role Play for final round on giventheme on the spot.

Bhagam-Bhag
The competition BhagamBhag is a time management game, wherein teams would be evaluated based on their managing assigned task within time and in best of manner.
Team Size: 02 Students
Basic Rules of Bhagam-Bhag:
- The competition consists of total 4 rounds: Elimination Round followed by three other rounds.
- Assigned tasks will be related to managing some tasks in give time duration.
- Specific rules of each round will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
VakChaturya
World leaders in business all have an important skill in common, they speak with confidence and relevance. The "VakChaturya - the Presentation Competition" is an exciting event that enables talented young students to meet and demonstrate their command of Language, Business Knowledge and realize their potential.
Team Size: 02 Students
Basic Rules of VakChaturya:
- The competition consists of total 2 rounds: Elimination Round followed by finalround.

- Best 10 teams would go further and respective group will pickup chit and present on the topic.

Gayiki
Gayiki is the act of producing musical sounds with the voice, and augments regular speech by the use of both tonality and rhythm. Participants perform music (arias, recitatives, songs, etc.) that can be sung either with or without accompaniment by musical instruments.
Team Size: Solo: Individual
Group: 3 participants
Basic Rules of Gayiki :
- Prepare at least 3 songs. Allowed languages: Gujarati, Hindi, English
- Participant must bring instrument or instrumental music on their own to perform. Participant must submit the instrument or instrumental music at registration desk to student coordinator. It is strongly advised to come with back-up of your files.
- Participants must be ready to perform even without Instrumental music under power failure situations.
- Specific rules will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Nach Le
"SOME PEOPLE LEARN TO DANCE... OTHERS ARE BORN TO!" So why not set your soul free to the music in you? Get on the stage and spread the magic. Let your senses be free and express yourself because it doesn't matter who's watching, what matters is your feet are tapping, your heart is racing and your passion is sweating.
Team Size: Solo: Individual
Group: 4 participants
Basic Rules of Nach Le :
- Choice of songs/music is open to the participants. Allowed languages are: Gujarati, Hindi and English. Come prepared with at-least 3 dance of your choice. You must be ready to perform even without music under power failure situations.
- Song/Music duration must be within 4 minutes (Solo) and 5 minutes (Group).
- All participants are required to submit MP3 files for his/her song/music on registration desk to student coordinator well before the competition start. It is strongly advised to come with back-up of your files.
- Specific rules will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
Khoj
A Khoj - treasure hunt is a type of competition which can have more players who try to find hidden articles, locations or places by using a series of clues. Treasure hunt competition may be an indoor or outdoor activity. Outdoors they can be played in a garden or the treasure could be located anywhere in the educational campus like Uka Tarsadia University.
Team Size: 05 Students
Basic Rules of Khoj :
- All group members have to work in a team. If group members are found working isolated, team shall be disqualified.
- Winners would be declared based on how soon they arrive at final spot with paper sheet submission as per guidelines provided.
- Participants are not allowed to use any gadgets (including phone) and vehicles during competition.
- Participants found violating desired discipline/decorum in UTU and SRIMCA premises would be disqualified.
- Specific rules will be announced at appropriate time on the day of event.
